Going to the Sun Fiber Mill & SunSpun Yarns TM are located in the beautiful Flathead Valley in Kalispell, Montana. We have named our custom woolen mill after the well known Glacier National Park road that winds steeply up and over its wild and rugged mountains.

Going to the Sun Fiber Mill carries a certification in Alpaca/Llama Fiber Sorting & Cashmere Fiber Judging through Olds College in Alberta, Canada

We can process: Wool, all types (except merino, cormo, rambouillet, & bond which are all high lanolin/fine wool) Our specialty in wool are the Primitive Wools such as Icelandic, Navajo Churro, Shetland; Alpaca, both huacaya & suri; Llama, double/single coated & suri; Mohair, & Pet Hair .

Our cottage mill provides personal customer service. We will help you select the best processing choices for value added marketing based on your fiber's qualities. We go beyond the ordinary standard processing. We help you decide what your family farm can offer as finished products for personal use or as retail sales. We have the ability to spin up to an 6 inch staple length from primative sheep breeds such as Icelandic, Shetland, or Navajo Churro without cutting.

We offer handspinning, dyeing of your cleaned fiber or yarn, and blending of several different fibers or colors. We use Ashland Bay commericial fiber for blending.

We can help you get a higher yield from each clip by using your "lesser quality" wool to be spun into a bulky type yarn. 2nds (hip, shoulder, lower neck) & "GOOD" 3rds (apron, britch, upper leg) from alpaca/llama can be spun into our Core-Spun Yarns as another great product.

We can change your Core-Spun Yarn into beautiful loom woven rugs, table runners, place mats, 16x16 or 24x24 pillow tops. (May we suggest a suede pillow back) We offer to knit the Avalanche Hat for you from your own core spun yarn for $14.00 per hat. Hand knitted Avalanche Hat & Bulky Vest can be seen below.
