MONTANA FIBER AND WOOL MILL
Going to the Sun Fiber Mill & SunFiber Yarns TM are located in the beautiful Flathead Valley in Kalispell, Montana. We have named our custom woolen mill after the well known Glacier National Park road that winds steeply up and over its wild and rugged mountains.
Our mill has two sets of equipment. We can process your sheep wool or the exotic alpaca, llama, cashmere, buffalo, yak, qiviut, and mohair from the raw state to finished luxury yarn.
Our cottage mill provides personal customer service. We will help you select the best processing choices for value added marketing based on your fiber's qualities. We go beyond the ordinary standard processing. We help you decide what your family farm can offer as finished products for personal use or as retail sales. We have the ability to spin up to an 8 inch staple length from primative sheep breeds such as Icelandic, Shetland, or Navajo Churro without cutting.
We also offer special processing. We can de-hair your dual coated livestock by separating the outer hair from the downey undercoat.
We can change your course fiber into beautiful 3'x4' felted pads to be fashioned into garments, rugs, saddle pads..etc.
We can help you get a higher yield from each clip by using your "lesser quality" wool (clean belly, coarse britch) or 2nds & "GOOD" 3rds on alpaca/llama! We spin it into our Core-Spun Yarns as another great product for making rugs, placemats, table runners, and elite designer vests! Suri makes beautiful bulky knitted garments out of our mid gauge Core-Spun Yarn.
We can change your fiber into beautiful loom woven rugs, table runners, place mats, and fine shawls or throws. We have 4 local artists to hand weave for you! Please call for prices at 406-756-6772.
We offer handspinning, dyeing of your cleaned fiber or yarn, and blending of several different fibers or colors.
MILL TURN AROUND TIME AS OF SEPT 2009 IS ... 90 days for wool, alpaca, llama... and 120 DAYS for dehairing and spinning of "high exotics
